Online Bachelor Degree's

Online Bachelor-Experience Degree's-What's that?

Can I get a work permit and work legally in Thailand without a Bachelor Degree?
-Yes you can but it's tricky and you will be limited as to job offers and at the end of the day not be able to attain the higher-paid salary positions. If you do not possess a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) and wish to work in a public school your director has to seek an exemption from the set regulations to obtain a temporary work permit (maximum 2 years) from the Thai Teacher's Council in order to obtain a letter from the MOE (Ministry of Education). Most directors do not wish to do that (a main reason why they hire our company to recruit teachers for them) and will require a Bachelor’s Degree just to spare them the headache. The teacher will then only be offered jobs where the directors cannot find a suitable teacher that does hold a degree to fill lower paid positions such as in rural areas etc. If you wish to work for a private school and do not hold a degree, you can more or less forget about being able to work legally for a private school. In most cases the Thai Teachers Council will say no to the exemption. Back to square one.

What about doing a Bachelor Degree in my computer
Oh ho,there we go-Yes it will save you a buck or two but may also land you in jail as well as deportation in the end. In the last two years we had a couple of teachers that went down to the famous (infamous) Khaosan Road and ordered Bachelor’s Degrees from various universities. The Ministry of Immigration got hold of their files and contacted the universities and received the reply- Sorry, that degree is a fake. I am not sure if these teachers are still in Thailand after sitting 2 months in prison and paying a HUGE fine. Do not go down that path!

What is a Experience Degree?
A Honor degree is, unsurprisingly, exactly how it sounds. For those people who don't have a university degree, they can apply to selected universities to obtain a university degree based on their experiences in life. All of their work and life experiences, work training, any certificate programs they've passed etc. are sent into the life experience university, who will then evaluate what they are worth and use them to give the applicant 'university credits' towards a degree. With these credits, you can earn an Associate degree, a Bachelors degree, or even a Masters degree without even having to actually go to university.
